Hello!
My name is Mary Alice. I am so excited that you are here! It has been a dream come true to teach sewing through Bright Ideas sewing camps. I love seeing my student's confidence grow and to help them discover something they are passionate about. Growing up sewing and creating was (and still is) my happy place, and I hope you can find that same joy in creating with me!
My Story
As a sophomore in college I was struck with the idea to create summer sewing camps. I grew up going to soccer and dance camps, so why not create a camp for kids to come sew? I took the idea and ran with it. My first year I had 8 kids total, and since then I have been blown away at the support and excitement surrounding my sewing camps! I have done sewing camps for the last 7 years, and I have loved every minute of it. Seeing my students complete a project, light up when they see their ideas come to life, and grow to love sewing has fueled me to keep growing Bright Ideas.
In college I studied Family and Consumer Science Education and have been teaching High School sewing for the last 3 years. I have always been drawn to teaching, and I have loved teaching the class that kids look forward to as their creative outlet!
I am excited to help your child grow in their sewing skills, and help them fuel their creativity!
